Patient Story: Rebeca Rendón’s Journey to Motherhood

Posted on September 17, 2025 by Reproductive Biology Associates

At Reproductive Biology Associates (RBA), we know that sharing stories of hope can help others feel less alone during their fertility journey. Former RBA patient Rebeca Rendón generously shared her experience to inspire and encourage others who may be walking a similar path.

Before Coming to RBA

Like many patients, Rebeca and her husband faced a difficult road before turning to fertility treatment.

“My experience before going to the fertility clinic was very difficult. It was a sad and exhausting time with my husband because pregnancy wasn’t happening naturally. But then I found RBA, and you made my miracle, our dream come true.”

Beginning IVF at RBA

Rebeca’s care team recommended in vitro fertilization (IVF), and she began treatment with Dr. Andrew Toledo.

“My experience was so beautiful. I loved the services, and the nurses treated me so well. My doctor was Andrew Toledo. From day one, I knew he was going to help me because of his kindness and positivity. Everyone treated me wonderfully.

The moment I remember most was during my first ultrasound, when the nurse told me, ‘It’s not one baby, it’s two.’ My husband and I were overjoyed. RBA truly changed our lives.”

Memorable Moments

Rebeca recalls several moments that stand out from her journey:

“I remember seeing the bruises from my injections, but I did them with faith and love because I knew it would be worth it.

Another moment was when Dr. Toledo called me and said, ‘Rebeca, out of the five embryos, only two developed well. Do you want to try with those two?’ I said yes, with a lot of fear that it wouldn’t work. But it was a total success.

At my very first appointment, I even asked Dr. Toledo, ‘Doctor, is it possible to have twins? I would love twins.’ He said yes, and that’s exactly what happened. I became pregnant with twin girls.”

Overcoming Challenges

Rebeca’s greatest challenge was facing the fear that her treatment might not succeed.

“My biggest challenge was facing the uncertainty and the fear that it might not work. I overcame it with faith, patience, and fully trusting the medical team. I focused on keeping a positive attitude and taking care of my physical and emotional health. With God’s favor, the blessing came on the first attempt, and today my twin girls are a daily reminder that every step of the process was worth it.”

Life After RBA

For Rebeca, life today is filled with gratitude.

“From the moment I entered RBA, my life took a transformative turn, full of hope, support, and professionalism. I came in nervous but hopeful, and from the first moment I felt I was in the best hands. My hope became real joy: my twin girls came home with me after the very first attempt, and now they fill my days with laughter, tenderness, and gratitude.”

Advice to Others

Rebeca offers thoughtful words to anyone just beginning their fertility journey:

“Allow yourself to feel and live every stage without losing sight of your goal. Fertility requires patience and faith. Surround yourself with supportive people, trust your medical team, and take care of your heart and mind. Do not compare your process to anyone else’s, because every story is unique. Trust that your miracle is also possible.”

Why Rebeca Recommends RBA

Rebeca’s gratitude is clear in the way she speaks about her care team.

“I would recommend RBA 100% without hesitation. In fact, several people have gone because of my recommendation. Why? Because RBA is a great clinic. They communicate clearly, they have a wonderful team of doctors and nurses, even the receptionists. They focus on making sure patients understand their treatment, and they truly celebrate with you. They are a marvelous, professional team, and I will always recommend them.”
